Course Long Title

Management Consulting Skills for Sustainability Professionals

Course Description

This one-unit course is for (1) management consultants who want to expand their practice to include sustainability and environment, social, and governance (ESG) consulting, (2) sustainability and ESG professionals who wish to become management consultants, and (3) students new to and interested in both management consulting and sustainability/ESG. The first part of this course will delineate definitions and an ethical code for sustainability management consulting. Next students will learn how to propose, win, and conduct management consulting projects in a variety of sustainability/ESG areas. Effective communications between clients, consulting team members, and other stakeholders -- which is critical to successful management consulting -- is addressed next. The assessment at the end of the course offers an experience of designing and proposing a sustainability management consulting project, with individual feedback from the professor.
