Course Description

An introduction to the scientific study of language development in children from birth to early adulthood. Covers the phonological/perceptual, lexical, semantic, morphosyntactic, and pragmatic/social aspects of oral language development, and the early stages of written language development. Emphasis on theories of language acquisition, learning and sources of variation across children. MAY NOT BE TAKEN CONCURRENTLY WITH CDIS-308.
